I was born in 2006 in Boston, Massachusettes, and was raised in the suburb of Arlington about 15 minutes out of the city. At a young age, I was captivated by the power of the movies. Whether it was watching Star Wars: A New Hope on a VHS tape in my grandparent’s basement or being taken to the cinema with my father I was constantly itching to watch more and more films. At about 7 I began to make films with my friends, stretching from Westerns set in our backyards to stop-motion films with action figures. Ever since I could really understand what it meant to be a filmmaker I’ve known what I wanted to do.
As I’ve gotten older, the scope of the lens has widened, and my passion for filmmaking has grown. I’ve discovered some of my favorite filmmakers, such as John Cassavetes, Woody Allen, Paul Thomas Anderson, and Mike Nichols. Thanks to the archives of Siskel & Eberts' reviews, I’ve become more engrossed in critically examining films as well as the power of the art form. With these discoveries and input from my own life, I’ve cultivated a style and voice that is uniquely me and with this voice, I hope to share intimate, honest, and personal stories through the art of filmmaking.
